Completing my degree...finally

Many many moons ago, an Old Man - Mellower As He Got Older - said to his daughter "O Beautiful Jaguar, Youngest Daughter of mine, I shall reward you with money to complete your undergraduate studies, if you so wish. However, a pact we must make:

1. The subject studied must be a proper course, such as Engineering, Law, Medicine or Accounts
2. You must complete your studies, hence all financial assistance will not be refunded
3. You must be serious with your studies, hence all financial assistance will cease."

And so, as Beautiful Jaguar has been meaning to complete her undergraduate course, she searched hi and low for a suitable (local) college for which she could attend, with the proper accreditation, preferably part-time, as she is currently working full-time.

The search proved difficult, as there are not many part-time undergraduate courses available in all the known colleges.
Yet, Beautiful Jaguar prevailed until she found an open university which fulfilled her requirements.
Alas, the course would begin in a few months, thus, she used up the remaining time to further her search in case a another college could provide a better option.

Luckily, Beautiful Jaguar came across an advertisement for an education fair...which the Beautiful Jaguar attended with much glee and hope, deep in her heart.
"Aha!" said Beautiful Jaguar, who was exceptionally beautiful that day in her 3-months not washed jeans and sendat t-shirt. "More options."

One of the options, in fact, was a part-time course for a degree top-up with Olympia College.
4 core modules and 3 modules for the specific major.
The requirements:
- 2 years of study within the appropriate major OR a Diploma in the relevant field of study
- I cannot remember what the rest were..alas the Beautiful Jaguar does not have very good memory and the brocure is currently somewhere at home

Beautiful Jaguar found the course to be very attractive indeed:
- 1 module at a time
- 2 months per module
- Distance learning (Net is widely used)
- 7 subjects in total

After much thought, she decided to approach this college to inquire further.
After perusing Beautiful Jaguar's Diploma transcripts, The Deputy Administrator (who seemed somewhat flirtatious) informed her that this request must be raised further, as many subjects taken in the past are not related to Business Management, but Business Communications, and may not be relevant to the course Beautiful Jaguar wished to partake in.
However, an alternative was provided - an MBA course - which would require a minimum of 5 years working experience, preferably in a manegerial position and for the candidate to be over 25 years of age (if she did not already have a degree).
Unbeknown to many, Beautiful Jaguar is older than she appears.
This shall be the only time Beautiful Jaguar is thankful she is almost 3 decades old, though her heart will be forever young...much like the (I think) Cliff Richard song.

After explaining the situation with her older sister, Huggable Bunny, (who unfortunately does not look younger than her actual age of 19), Huggable Bunny recommended Beautiful Jaguar to take up the degree course, instead, as Post-Graduate courses tend to be difficult, and Beautiful Jaguar is a restless student who requires much distraction.
Similar to people with ADD.
However, Beautiful Jaguar's friend, Iggy Piggy @ M'Yeo recommended the masters course, as this would be a better qualification to have.

Upon consultation with the Raffles Administration office, The Deputy Adminstrator finally informed Beautiful Jaguar that she will be able take up the degree course, provided she sat for 4 bridging subjects.
This, thought Beautiful Jaguar, was not an issue...as she has not studied for many many moons, and may not remember much of what she did learn, if she learned anything at all.

But ho!
The Old Man - Mellower As He Got Older - suddenly provided an alternative that would drive Beautiful Jaguar mindlessly mad with indecision and confusion as she further weighed her options:
RESIGN AND I WILL GRANT THEE A FULL SCHOLARSHIP..
so says Mellower As He Got Older in a booming God-like voice (not really, but it's more dramatic like that).

Alas, thought Beautiful Jaguar, I will certainly receive less that what I am earning..which is about RM5K, though Mellower As He Got Older knows it to be less than that.
This ignorance must remain, or current additional financial assistance may cease altogether.

As Beautiful Jaguar is reluctant to leave the Company she loves, where much was taught to her and growth occured aplenty(mentally, emotionally and especially physically), much was considered, including working 80% or 60%, or even taking Unpaid Leave.

Until finally, on Monday, when she consulted Iggy Piggy of her options and was advised to "take up the offer, stupid!" "though stupid was not said aloud, it was clear Iggy Piggy thought it).
Then, Beautiful Jaguar consulted her immediate slave-driver, Law of the T1ES Land, whom recommended Beautiful Jaguar to resign rather than "half bucket here, half bucket there", with encouragements of a better career prospect upon graduation, whether in the same Company or another.
Prior to that, making Beautiful Jaguar extremely happy with "it will definitely be a loss to the Company, as you are an assett."
Next, Beautiful Jaguar consulted her advisor, The Great Uncle of Pozi, whom recommended she take up the Career Break option, so she would have something to return to, though at the same time, encouraged her to start her own business afterwards, even providing some suggestions of money-making enterprises to consider.

And so...after much consultation and thought, the Beautiful Jaguar has decided...
She will partake of the Career Break option, so she may concentrate fully on her studies.
While adjusting her stated monthly financial obligations in the excel spreadsheet prepared, so that Mellower As He Got Older will give her some extra $$ so she may continue to spend.

Alas, there will be a loss of RM1K+ in the old people's fund...

Fare-thee-well, oh great House of Siham....may the Moon and Sun bless upon us and grant us another meeting of the minds....
I shall see you again in 2 years....NAY!
2 years from October, as I can only leave at the earliest then...or at the latest....end of this year...
